Agency for The Development of Women & Children (ADWAC) was set up in September 1996 by Gambians following the closure of Save the Children –USA, an international organization that operated in the North Bank Region (NBR) for 14 years. ADWAC is a registered non-sectarian, non-partisan development organization that pursues a programme of integrated rural development to bring about sustainable improvement in rural living conditions, with particular emphasis being placed upon the wellbeing of women and children.
