NEDI was established by an Act of the National Assembly in 2004 mandated to support Gambian youth and women entrepreneurs on their entrepreneurship and enterprise development ideas or initiatives, including provision of financial assistance such as grants and loans, coaching, mentoring and business advisory services to help boost their businesses. NEDI offers Entrepreneurship Training on: Agro-preneurship, General Entrepreneurship and Business Plan Development. These trainings are conducted using ILO material, which was customized on the basis of more than 10 years in entrepreneurship within the Gambian ecosystem. The above materials and applications were tested in line with market needs and demand, with regular evaluation of the impact of the services.
